HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg Stampede have announced the re-signing of AIFA All-Pro Defensive Back Archie Smith and Wide Receiver Silas Daniels.
As a leader on the defensive side of the ball, Smith was an AIFA All-Pro selection at the Defensive Back position in 2009. He led the Harrisburg Stampede with nine interceptions during the season, while racking up a total of 52 tackles in 14 games last season.
Smith said, “I am very happy to be back with the Stampede for 2010. I think we are going to come together as a team and develop really good chemistry before the season even starts. As long as we all get on the same page, I know we can have one of the top ranked defenses and teams in the AIFA.”
Wide Receiver Silas Daniels caught 37 passes for six touchdowns and more than 400 receiving yards on his way to being named an honorable mention on the AIFA’s All-Pro Team last season.
He was also the only Stampede Receiver to dress for every game in 2009.
“Harrisburg has been a good place for me”, Daniels said. “I am pretty confident about our chances this season. We have many of our leaders back again and as long as we get the offense on the right track, we will win ball games.”
It is clear that Daniels will be a factor in the Harrisburg Offense in 2010.
Head Coach Ramon Robinson said, “It is great to have players of Archie’s and Silas’ caliber come back to the team. Having played a few years in the AIFA, they know the game really well and will be a threat to all of the teams that we face.”
