LONG POND, Pa. - Pocono Raceway will be hosting their 5th Annual “Kid’s Day” on August 1st, 2009 in the Chalet Village located adjacent to the track. The event is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The race track is reaching out to the children in the Pocono Mountain region and beyond, providing them with a full day of racing fun which promises to be a memorable time for anyone who attends. With outdoor activities ranging from face painting to state of the art racing simulators, there is something for all ages.

With the help of multiple 501C-3 organizations and critical corporate partnerships, “Kid’s Day” continues to grow and become more popular every year. For 2009, Pocono Raceway has provided numerous organizations with Kid’s Day tickets in an effort to give area children the opportunity to have a great and exciting day at the track.

Pocono Raceway also takes full advantage of their facilities in order to accommodate disabled children with special needs.

Mountain Concessions CEO, Looie McNally said, “We take pride in making this a fun day for kids who may not normally come out and see a race. When you can look around and see that every child at the track has a smile on their face, all of the planning and meetings become worth it.”

Different local organizations may also elect to have a display at Kid’s Day in order to help get them reacquainted with the community at large. With more than 20 expected exhibitors and new confirmations coming in every day, it seems that this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever.
